Richard L. Ravin, Esq.

        Richard L. Ravin, has recently become a Member of Hartman & Winnicki, P.C. and is Head of the Firm's E-Commerce and Intellectual Property Law Practice Group.  Mr. Ravin is Co-Chair of the Internet Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association (“NYSBA”) and is Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the NYSBA.  He is also Program Co-Chair of the Fall 2000 Meeting of the Intellectual Property Law Section (NYSBA), entitled:  “Intellectual Property Law Issues in E-Commerce:  Analysis and Practice Pointers”   Mr. Ravin recently addressed the Venture Association of New Jersey on “Web Site Legal Issues”.   He is a frequent author on e-commerce and technology legal issues.  Mr. Ravin is Managing Editor of the Internet Business Law Alert newsletter. The Internet Business Law Alert Newsletter

        Mr. Ravin has counseled start-up, early-stage and mature “dot com” and traditional companies, ranging from software publishers and developers, on-line financial service providers for banks and credit card holders, Web-based market integration businesses, Web service bureaus, health care providers, advertising agencies, insurance agencies, Web site developers, trade associations, a magazine publishers, a national armored car service, regional paper distributors, and engravers, franchisees, and on-line real estate brokers.

        Mr. Ravin is former Law Clerk to for The Honorable Herman D. Michels, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division, Superior Court of New Jersey.  Mr. Ravin is an experienced commercial litigator in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, in the trial, appellate and bankruptcy courts.  He has substantial experience representing clients concerning debtor-creditor rights.  Mr. Ravin is admitted to the bars of New Jersey, New York, Washington D.C. and Florida.
 

Matthew J. Ahearn, Esq.

        Matthew J. Ahearn is Of Counsel to Hartman & Winnicki, P.C. and a member of the Firm's E-Commerce and Intellectual Property Law Group.  He has a strong technology background on the business side as well as the legal side of the computer industry.  Mr. Ahearn was formerly a Senior Technology Consultant for Computer Horizons Corp.'s E-Business Solutions Group, as well as legal counsel to the company on its computer services and network related transactions. Mr. Ahearn’s practical experience also includes serving as an Information Technology Consultant and a Defense Contractor's Computer Security Manager.

        Mr. Ahearn served as a Telecommunications and  Data Systems Analyst for the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI) and the Department of Defense Electromagnetic Compatibility Analysis Center.  Mr. Ahearn began his career as a Telecommunications and Electronic Warfare Officer in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division.   He has also served as legal and technical expert in telecommunications matters concerning personal wireless services network design and radio frequency management issues.

        Mr. Ahearn has served as special counsel to six municipal government bodies and land use agencies on general planning and zoning board matters.  He has appeared as counsel before government bodies, administrative agencies, courts, and mediators on various technology and zoning issues.  Mr. Ahearn’s computer and technology background together with his legal experience in technology matters enables our E-Commerce and Intellectual Property Law Group to understand our clients’ complex technology and e-commerce legal issues.  His experience as planning board attorney and as a former Deputy Mayor and Councilman allow him to assist all our clients negotiate the legal issues arising from growth and changes in the "brick and mortar" aspects of their businesses operations.
